This is a SECOND afternoon event that we are holding due to popular demand! This will be run from 1pm to 3pm.
Join us to celebrate World Wetlands Day and learn all about our amazing Kōtare | native Kingfisher as part of our CKNZ Save Our Species Programme!
We will be exploring the Para Wetlands through a guided kayaking tour in addition to some fun family activities.
What you need to bring:
- Togs and towel
- Change of clothes (you are going to get wet!)
- Sunblock
- Hat
- Drink Bottle
- $5 donation to help cover kayak costs
We will provide all kayaks and life jackets, but if you have your own kayak you would like to bring please let us know.
This event is designed as a whānua event. Due to water safety, however, we need to limit the age to 5yrs and over.
Double or single kayaks: please make sure you only pick a single kayak for your child if they are capable of paddling independently and safely.
All infomation regarding location will be sent to you via email upon registration.
**Please note: Once you have registered you are taking up a valuable spot. IF YOU CANNOT MAKE THE TRIP you MUST let us know so we can let someone on the waiting list know that they can make it and no one misses out!**

Single Kayak - suitable for an older child who is able to paddle unassisted. Please note: parents are responsible for their own children, so please make sure your child can confidently paddle unassisted if you wish to choose this as an option.
