Join us to celebrate World Wetlands Day and learn all about our amazing Kōtare/Kingfisher as part of our CKNZ Save Our Species Programme.
We will be exploring the Para Wetlands through a guided kayaking tour in addition to some fun family activities.
What you need to bring:
- Togs and towel
- Change of clothes
- Sunblock
- Hat
- Drink Bottle
- $5 donation towards the National Wetland Trust
We will provide all kayaks and life jackets, but if you have your own kayak you would like to bring please let us know.
This event is designed as a whānua event. Due to water safety, however, we need to limit the age to 5yrs and over.
Double or single kayaks: please make sure you only pick a single kayak for your child if they are capable of paddling independently and safely.

Single Kayak - suitable for an older child who is able to paddle unassisted. Please note: parents are responsible for their own children, so please make sure your child can confidently paddle unassisted if you wish to choose this as an option.

If you have your own kayak that you would like to bring along and join us your are more than welcome! You MUST have a life jacket to attend this event, any child with their own kayak must be joined by an adult and must be able to confidently paddle their kayak unassisted.
